Participants in MoscowThis three-way videoconference between Brussels, Moscow and Khanty-Mansiysk focussed on the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area as an example of relations between Russia’s regions and the EU.
The participants discussed achievements in the liberalization of Russian regions’ foreign economic relations and technical research partnership with EU countries, as well as environmental programs and efficient use of energy
The Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area (Yugra) in West Siberia is one of the most stable and developed regions of Russia. In June 2008 the 20th EU-Russia summit was held in Khanty-Mansiysk, the area’s capital city.
